New Thing.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this new thing before or not. She just started doing this last Thursday when she was with her two Grandma's. She tightens her little arms and her hands into fists and clenches her jaw. It's like a little kid throwing a tantrum or something. It is so funny and I can't figure out why she does it! I caught it on camera though.

She is getting so big, she looks like a big kid in this picture! She has eaten avocado a few times now out of the mesh feeder and seems to like it. So last night I put a peach slice in it. You should've seen her face. It was like I had given her the nastiest thing ever to eat. She would keep trying it over and over, and each time she would make the same disgusted face. I don't know if she kept hoping that one time it would turn into the avocado. I felt kind of bad for her, but the kid needs to eat food! She can't live on my boob forever!

Hump Day!

How many times can I say I'm tired before you get tired of reading about it? I'm tired by the way... Kendra has way too much energy these days. She doesn't sit still anymore. She used to just lay there looking cute, now she just wants to play!! Here is a video of her spitting. I happened to get lucky and catch it!

She wants to crawl so bad. She's getting so close too. She just hasn't quite figured out that she needs to move her hands and her knees. She might need a little more strength still but she can pretty much hold herself up on all fours. She gets mad on all fours though and I haven't figured out the reason... either she doesn't like it, doesn't have the strength or is just mad that she can't get anywhere (whereas when she is sitting she can reach for stuff without real risk of falling!)

Happy Birthday Grandma!

My Grandmother's 70th birthday was yesterday. We drove to Oakdale to celebrate at my Aunt and Uncle's house. Here is a picture of Kendra, myself, my mom and my grandma.
I have to tell this story before I forget. Brent went to pick up Kendra from daycare today. She was sitting on the floor with the other babies happily playing. Brent picked her up and she started crying!! Like she wanted to stay and play!! She is getting so active. It is hard to hold her sometimes because she bounces and jumps so much like she wants down to play. She already doesn't want to be cuddled like a little baby anymore! She will be crawling and on the move very soon. She wants to so bad!

She Dances

Every time Kendra would hear this train noise, she would bounce (dance)! Over and over. It was too cute. Whenever she gets excited she does it now too. She is getting very difficult to hold, always bouncing, squirming and wanting down! Check out the video!

Party!!

Kendra and I went to Ava's 2nd birthday party on Sunday. It was a circus theme, with a huge bounce house and face painting, and games and water fun (sprinklers). The kids all seemed to be more interested in the swimming pool though since it was so hot out. Kendra isn't big enough to join in the fun, but she did get to try her first snowcone! She loved it. It was so hot, that I kept letting her suck on it, then I started breaking off chunks and letting her eat the ice out of my hand!

(Like the self portrait?)

Swimming!

Kendra's first time in the pool was Saturday! We had fun. It was SO hot outside (100 degrees at least), so it was nice to get in the pool. Brent was out of town for the night so we took lots of pictures and videos to share with him. Kendra had fun splashing, even though it would shock her when the water splashed in her face. The only downside is the drive to get to the pool-okay, really not that bad...only about 45 minutes. :) I'm not quite ready to take her to the pool at the gym by myself. Maybe Brent and I can take her together one day. Here are some pictures of us enjoying the water.

Neverending cough...

Kendra has a horrible cough, if I haven't mentioned it before. It wakes her (and us) up in the middle of the night and she turns bright red, eyes watering. It is so sad. I can tell she is so tired and just wants to sleep. Then she tosses and turns trying to get comfortable and to stop coughing. She actually tosses and turns a bunch at night. I can put her down almost completely asleep and she will still toss and turn until she falls asleep all the way. This morning, I walked in to find her legs hanging out the side of the crib. I had to run to get the camera because I thought it was so funny. I should've taken a top view too. Keep in mind that she was sound asleep in the picture.

Happy Hump Day!

I just had to post so I could share this picture. I think it is so funny! I kept putting it in her mouth correctly, and she would take it out and turn it around like this. She looks like a little puppy dog holding it like that!
I am tired... too bad I can't blame it on Kendra, she slept all night long. She ate more at daycare yesterday so they asked us to start bringing more milk for her. On the same day that the adapter for the breastpump decided to break! The battery power sucks and the closest place I can find a replacement adapter is in Folsom! (Medela company said that they don't recommend buying a regular adapter from Radio shack- they said it may not work properly or may even break the pump! I think I may get a radio shack one anyway, I don't have time to go to Folsom!) Kendra has a bad nasty cough. It sounds horrible and she gets little coughing attacks like I used to when I was little (well, I still do sometimes). It's not like I can give her tea or anything either. I can't even give her cough medicine! Poor Baby!

Mothers Day

Brent and I went to breakfast Sunday morning with Sandy and Jennifer for Mothers Day. It was nice, Kendra did pretty well-compared to some babies I have had the pleasure of going to restaurants with. This was her first time sitting in a high chair. We didn't keep her there for long though. She also tried out a booster seat between us. She was just a little too wiggly to stay seated so Dad kept picking her up!

Then we drove down to Lodi to see my parents and family. Here is Kendra sitting in the grass in her pretty little dress. The sun was bright on her face so it was hard to even get her to look up, let alone smile too!

Daddy got a nap. I put Kendra on him thinking she would start smacking him and pinching him to wake him up. She just sweetly laid her head down on him. I had to run to get the camera!

Daycare Mothers Day Lunch

The daycare had a mothers day luncheon today for the moms. They had a yummy salad bar for us. Here is Kendra and I, and Kendra and her teacher Ms. Carolyn.

This is the cute little gift that Kendra made for me:

And the card (it's supposed to have her handprint on it, but apparantly she didn't like making a handprint-she curled her hand closed and then got upset according to Ms. Caroline):

The poem inside the car says:

My Little Hands

"My little hands play patty-cake

they peek-a-boo and wave...

They catch me while I learn to walk

and splash me as I bathe.

My little hands reach up to you,

for hugs before I sleep...

and fold together when I pray

the Lord my soul to keep.

My little hands are tiny now

but yours will serve to guide me...

And when I'm grown I'll still reach out

and know you're right beside me..."

Another top tooth!

I went to the daycare at lunch today and Kendra was chewing on Ms. Jennifer's hand. She mentioned Kendra's TWO new top teeth! I had only seen the one on the top left. Sure enough, she has the top right coming in now too! Poor baby, it looks painful. It's all red and inflamed! Here are a few videos of Kendra talking (I took them on my new camera, just playing around). She likes to suck her toes, yuck! It doesn't even look like her own foot the way it's all twisted around!

A Top Tooth!!

Kendra's top tooth has officially broken through the skin!! I could tell it was coming the last couple of days and it's out! She is such a good teether. She was happy all day Saturday and fussy Saturday evening (I was out and Brent thought it was because she wanted to be with me). She was happy all day Sunday, then fussy Sunday evening with me. Other than that she has been fine. The daycare said she has been fine there as well. She went to bed two hours (!!) early last night and slept all night. Well, she woke up once or twice and I just gave her the pacifier and put the blanket back on top of her and she fell back asleep. She had fallen asleep in her daytime clothes, so I am sure she was cold. I changed her diaper when I put her in her crib without really waking her and didn't want to risk waking her all the way up by changing her into pajamas. I am going to attribute her extra sleep to teething. She doesn't get runny poos or a fever when she gets teeth so I am throwing that idea out the window. (People always say that their kids get fevers and diarrhea when they are teething- I obviously don't believe it!)

Nothing Exciting

Kendra attended her first funeral on Friday. She was in good spirits, so daddy hung out with her outside for half of the service. I got a new camera over the weekend and will post a pic or video later on. Happy Cinco de Mayo!!
