Tooth #7 is through!!
And I can tell #8 is coming at any time. Poor thing was a handful last night! She kept yelling out (Ahh!) and then she would hit herself in the mouth! And she was SO tired but it took her forever to actually go to sleep. She's 9 months old today!!! Yay!

Been Busy!
It's been a while. I have been SUPER busy at work. My boss has given me the responsibilities of someone else's full time job on top of the resposibilities I already had. I don't have enough time in the day to get it all done!! It's crazy. I haven't had time to upload my own pictures, but these are a few my mom sent me. We went to Bodega Bay last weekend with my family for my birthday. I wanted to take Kendra to the beach and get some cute pictures. It was cold and windy there, so I was a little disappointed. The week or two before it was supposedly nice and warm there! Oh well, it was still nice to get away. Here is Brent holding Kendra at dinner (not sure if this is before or after we ate), Brent, Kendra and I looking at the ocean, and Kendra and I on the beach. I'll write more and share more pictures later!

A picture or two

It's Official!
We have a crawler (well, a scoot-er). At the beginning of the weekend, we had to entice her to get her to crawl to us. We had to move all of her toys away from her and have just one toy out in front of her (the remote worked well). By last night, she was scooting around the living room on her own. She realized she could go after fuzz on the floor (and try to eat it) or make her way to my magazine rack (and rip the magazines and eat the paper). I guess it's time for us to babyproof the house!

Funny Hair
Kendra woke up with funny hair this morning. I took a picture with my camera phone. It was better than this before Brent tried to smooth it out, but it's still pretty cute!
When she was taking a bath the other night, I decided to play with her hair. I'm going to make it into a slide show instead of adding them all here, one by one.

Kendra comes home from daycare SO tired. She came home the other night and I fed her (green beans and rice cereal-she loves green beans!) and she was very tired so I nursed her and she fell asleep on the couch. A few minutes later, she started tossing and turning and fussing (and waking up). So Brent picked her up, she burped, then fell asleep on his shoulder! She never falls asleep like that anymore! It was so cute that I had to grab the camera.

Stuff to share
This is a pretty lame post, but I wanted to share a few things! First is the shirt Kendra made for Brent for Fathers Day. I never got Brent to actually put it on, but I did take a picture of it so I could share.
And the other thing I wanted to share was my newfound breakfast cereal:
I found it at Wal-mart if you are jealous and want to buy it too. I would never give it to my kid though. Or, if I did, I would mix it with something without sugar. It is PURE sugar. The worst cereal I have ever had. It tastes good, but it is WAY sweet. The cereal is pink and purple hearts, that taste like the crunchberries in Cap'n Crunch. And it has marshmellows (like the ones in lucky charms). No grain to make up for all of this sugar overload. I can't believe a company would be allowed to make and sell something like this to children. What would I do if Kendra were older and screaming that she wanted the Barbie cereal? I don't think I am strong enough to say no to her. Lord knows I can't do it now! I guess I need to remember to mix it in with another cereal... or do like Roseanne would do on her show-save the box and put a different cereal bag inside!!

Fishing
We went up to Caples lake fishing on Saturday. The weather was not too bad. Pretty sunny and warm, the wind keeping us cool. Grandpa caught all the fish, then right as we were packing up Brent got a bite. We showed Kendra the fish, but she didn't really seem to care. I thought about letting her touch them to feel the slimy skin, but then didn't want her smelling like fish and sticking her hand in her mouth or something. It was not easy being out there all day with a baby. It really wore me out. She was pretty worn out too, but she did pretty well considering. There were some HUGE nasty ants out there. They kept crawling up the chair somehow and I would see one crawling on my arm (well, my sweater) and freak out!

The cabin for the 4th
We went up to my parents' cabin for the weekend. On the 4th, we hung out by the fire on the back deck all evening. Barbecued for dinner, then roasted marshmellows and had some smores (yummy). This is Kendra earlier in the evening, playing with Grandma, then a self-portrait with mom (taken by me/mom, of course).
Happy Independence Day!!
Kendra made a flag at daycare last week. I guess they don't teach 8 month olds about the 50 stars and the 13 stripes... or the fact the stripes are supposed to be horizontal and not crossing each other... she'll get there eventually. Anyway, I think it's adorable. That is her handprint on the blue part. Looks like they were finally able to get her to cooperate for a handprint, because they couldn't on Mother's Day for my gift!!

Crew is 3!
Saturday, after the pageant, we went to Crew's 3rd birthday party. The kids played in the park and a magician came for a magic show. I was all ready for some cheesy, obvious tricks... the guy was pretty good. I couldn't even figure out most of his tricks! Pretty impressive. The little kids probably had no idea what was going on and could care less, but it was a good show for the adults and the older kids! The twins (Colby and Colton) got bored after a while and took off to go play in the park. Mom (Michelle) and I were impressed that they sat still for as long as they did! Here is a picture of the boys with Kendra. I have no idea what they are all looking at, but I thought it was cute that they were all looking the same direction! I couldn't for the life of me get them to all look at me!
Kendra would not leave Colton alone. She kept trying to climb up on him and he kept pushing her away. It was too cute. She is already choosing between the boys and the boys are obviously not into the ladies yet!!
Here is my mom with Kendra watching the older kids whack the elmo pinata. And Kendra picking up candy from the pinata. I have never seen kids leave so much candy on the ground. There were a good number of kids there, and they each grabbed a piece or two of candy and just left all the rest there. We used to grab as much as we could and fight to get it all! It was just unusual for me to see. Maybe they were all too young, I don't know.

The Pageant
Kendra won Best Model. The whole thing was a joke and I am kinda disappointed, but I won't get into it. You never know who is reading this thing! Here is a picture of my cutie. Ignore my mom's arm across her!! They wouldn't let us take pictures of the kids on stage so hopefully the pageant photo guy got some good ones! She was in a good mood and did really well. Here is a pic of her trophy too!
